Smart Green – Hessian Architectural Day 2022

This year’s conference was all about the C2C – circular economy and sustainable building development and their effective support through digitization models.

Based on several excellent recent research and construction projects, a wide range of topics was presented, offering a variety of options for different value propositions and solutions to design and build as sustainable, climate friendly and as circular as possible.

The spectrum of the projects presented ranged from hybrid timber structures for grade-A office buildings with an impressive recycling rate of up to 90% of building materials in use to fully automated, pre-manufactured timber ceiling-systems with span-widths of more than 12 m in highly variable column grids, to the latest research findings for cement-free, CO2-neutral organic concrete and circular material databases.

Many thanks to all speakers for the important input – future-proof architecture must be sustainable!
